There are too many variables to determine the life span of these blades. As long as you are cutting within the suggested material, you have longevity.

As with any metal on metal application the longevity of this blade depends a lot on the type of materials being cut and the care taken during operation.

I use these blades on my DeWalt cold cut saw with excellent results. There are some things I still use the old abrasive blades for such as rusted or damaged materials but for speed and overall use, cold cut blades save time in cutting as well as preparation. They leave behind nothing to be ground smooth and are a great deal more precise than abrasives.

I have never actually counted how many cuts per blade I get from the cold cut vs. abrasives and what the cost savings is but my guess is around 15 - 20 abrasives to do the job of one cold cut blade. And, unless heavily damaged the cold cut blade can be repaired and resharpened to continue use. That generally costs about 1/4 the initial price of the blade. In the short run the abrasives will be cheaper but if you count the time saved and the number of cuts made the cold cut blade will definitely come out on top.

The only drawback is you MUST have a cold cut saw to use them. They are not rated for use on chop saws.
