Yes, the pressure regulator control can be turned down to the lowest pressure possible. However, I had no problem starting my Honda 5 HP with the setting I use normally.

This pump can handle up to 140 degree water.

No, pump is not rated for hot water, as the water helps the pump stay cool. Hot water will cause it to overheat

The pump is 8.5" (mounting flange to end of header), add another 3/4" for the 1/4" dia. barbed soap suction fitting.

Yes, this fits onto an engine with a 3/4" shaft, and the 2 9/16" is the side to side measurement of the bolt holes.

It would require 3 1/2 GPM. It requires a pressurized feed to the pump. This pump on it's own will not pull water from an alternate source.

It does have a thermal relief valve.
