Staff Answer
Silica sand is actually illegal at least in a workplace to use as blasting media due to health risks of user and possibly even people in the area it is is being used. This is why sand blasting is an outdated term for media blasting. The machine is however, capable of using silica sand as the blasting media.

Question

what would be the most aggressive media to remove concrete material?

I'm looking to use this more for artistic purposes like etched concrete, glass, metals, etc. I know this is slower than a non-vac blaster, so I don't want a media that will require me to be there all day to get one area done.

Staff Answer
To sandblast concrete material, the most economical media to use would be the medium grit coal slag. This will leave some residue. If this is a problem, the medium glass bead or crushed walnut shells would also work.
