Question

Are IR Thermometers Only Good For Measuring Surface Temp?

For example, I couldn't use it as a replacement to measure the inner temperature of a steak? I think I know the answer is no, but wanted to confirm. My use would be mainly for culinary reasons. Thank you -JP

This thermometer will only measure surface temperature.

This, along with all other Microtemp IR Thermometers, are not able to be calibrated by the user themselves. You would need to contact outside calibration services yourself to determine if this unit can be done. The units themselves do not come with a calibration certificate.
