Question

Installation Details?

Can someone who did a self-install go over the details? I'm struggling to imagine how to handle a 300lb stove - transport, even lifting the thing (out of the truck, up into position on the hearth.) Much less installing the flu liner, etc...

Sorry, I'm sure this is a simple stupid question but I'm struggling with "Can I really do this?" And I'm reasonably handy (perhaps not very imaginative though!)

Staff Answer
The Century Fireplace Insert would perform better with faceplate insulation installed to stop the draft from the chimney. The Roxul brand insulation that is available at a home improvement stores would work for this purpose. A flue liner should also be used when using the insulation.

ive read that I should be able to turn my blower on but that it shouldn't run until the insert gets hot enough, but mine runs all the time when I turn it on

I suppose you could hardwire it in, but there would be a short pigtail coming from the wall out to the blower unit. The blower is bolted onto the outside of the fireplace insert.
