Question

Can it be used on an outside oil tank to prevent oil freezing?

When the temp gets below freezing, there are times the oil in my outside oil tank will freeze or gel up to the point that the oil is restricted and will not flow through the pipes to the oil burner. Can I put this on my tank to prevent this or to un-gel the oil?

answer 2
Yes. Powerblanket is UL/CSA but you don't want to set it in water. Powerblanket only heats on one side (face down it melts snow and ice... and face up you can lay on it to keep warm.) Product is heavy duty and can take a beating. Powerblanket is water tight and weatherproof. No shock hazard unless you submerge in water. Laying on top of blanket is OK.

answer 3
This unit gets pretty warm. Only heats on one side. Heat side down it will melt snow quickly. You can lay on top side without any worries of shock as long as your not in a pool of water.

Question

Is it possible to keep it on the engine while the vehicle is running?

Just wondering because based on some of the pictures it looks questionable as to if you can have it stay there while driving, but at the same time I guess it would be easy enough to remove when done each time.
