The proper heater for your specific situation will depend on a number of variables. The heater pictured above will heat up to 1,000 square ft. as a supplemental heat source. Using this heater in a smaller area is fine. This unit is thermostatically controlled so it will maintain heat at the set temperature regardless of how small of area you are heating.

I would recommend Duraflame Infrared Quartz Heater after purchasing 9 in total. 2 for my self 7 for my friends.
The heater puts out excellent heat with very little noise. I have an electric furnace but always felt cool. With these heaters my house is 3-4 degrees warmer and my hydro bill has dropped approx. 25-30 dollars per month.

To set the temperature on this Duraflame PowerHeat Infrared Quartz Heater you would want to try the following:

▲ ▼- SETTING TEMPERATURE
1. When pressing the ▲ ▼ buttons the LCD display will enter temperature setting mode.
2. When in temperature setting mode pressing the ▲ ▼ buttons will change the thermostat by 1 °F (1 °C.)
The temperature setting range is between 50 °F - 97 °F (10 °C and 36 °C).
3. The default temperature is 72 °F (22 °C.)
4. After 5 seconds of no control input the LCD display will exit temperature setting mode and display the

It shows that you want it to go to 72, it will blink then when it goes back to 67 it is showing the room temperature at that time, because it has not reached 72. I would advise to set it at 80 and then it will pull the room temp up to 72 or more, hope this was helpful.
