How easy is it to remove?

I often use my trailer for other purposes besides hauling my motorcycles. How easy is it to remove this Ultra-Tow Motorcycle Wheel Chock?

I too use my trailer more for other things than hauling my bike. This chock is very easy to install and remove in my opinion. There are 4 carriage bolts that drop down through the metal chock and then through your trailer decking. The bolts are then tightened to the decking with a washer and nut from below. By removing the nut and washer you can simply lift the chock off, bolts and all and set it aside. My trailer decking is 1" thick white oak, so if you have another material, it may complicate the process, but I doubt it.

Truck Bed or Motorcycle Lift Mounting

• Place the Base (7) over the desired location in the truck bed or motorcycle lift. Use the Base (7) for a pattern and mark where you the holes need to be drilled in order to mount the Wheel Chock. Use a drill (not included) and a steel cutting bit (not included) to drill the holes in the truck bed or motorcycle lift.
• Attach the Base (7) to the truck bed utilizing the Mounting Bolts (6), Nylon Sleeves (8), Large Washers (9) and Spring Washers (3). Secure with Hex Nuts (10). See Diagram and Parts List.

In my opinion it's not the easiest thing to remove, but not impossible. You would need some basic tools and a little bit of time. 2 people would make the process go alot easier too.

The carriage bolts provided are designed for a permanent mount, more or less. I drilled four holes thru the trailer floor and had to go under the trailer to install washers and nuts. You could reverse the bolts and possibly use wing nuts inside, but the bolts will be there. Another option is "T" nuts underneath and bolts from inside the trailer. The carriage bolts provided are 10mm metric.

My 2009 FLHTC has the chrome fender extension that is about 5" off the ground and I have no problem loading the bike into the Ultra-Tow. Just make sure you are going into the chock with the front wheel straight and perpendicular to the ground.

WIll work fine. I used it on my Super Glide which is 5 1/4" high and bike height doesn't seem to be an issue. Tire rolls right in and the tire is craddled to a stop on the rubber only.

I mounted mine on a wood deck enclosed trailer. You'll need to drill four holes for 10mm bolts. I used a 7/16" bit and it worked perfectly.

Diameter is not an issue. Only the width of the tire. This will fit tires up to 5 1/2" wide.

answer 2
Diameter DOES matter in the case of very small. Scooter wheel won't work because the rear support hits the back of the front fender and the front of the frame. This is always a problem with scooters.

I used it on my 2010 HarleySuper Glide with 19" Wheel and it cradles it up a little when locking into place. I don't see any reason it wouldn't work with all wheel sizes. There is plenty of room in the craddle.

With the chock securely bolted down, you pull back (and slightly up) on your handle bars to roll the bike backward out of the chock. With my FLHTC, I stand with both feet firmly planted before I move the bike out of the chock.

To load or unload the motorcycle from the chock, you will lower the pivoting bracket and wheel the bike in or out. For more specific information on how to operate this unit, see the product manual link under the descriptions tab when viewing the product.

I loaded my 2002 Suzuki Intruder (thick tires) and a friend loaded his dirt bike (thin tires). The wheel lock was able to hold both bike upright. The dirt bike had a little play but still stood by itself to be able strapped down by one person with out falling over.

Not sure which hole, but the idea is to used the lowest hole where the bottom of your tire does not touch the stand. The chock must support the tire off the plate.
