Question

How do you control the fan speed on this fan? Can I install a longer rod to lwer the fan some? How long a rod is recommended?

My ceiling is sloped (back porch), so the short rod included may cause a problem.
Is this fan rated for outdoor use? It won't get rained on, but may be in a humid environment, subject to condesnsation in early mornings, very hot in the afternoons, summertime.

To obtain a longer extension rod please contact the manufacturer direct.

This fan is not intended to operate in high humidity environments.

Yes you do need a speed controller.About 20 dollars.
You can use a longer rod but not sure how much longer,around a total of 24".
You can hang on slope ceiling
I installed 6 fans in a meeting hall that isn't heated or AC when not in use,It should be fine.

Depending on the ceiling height of the building, the Canarm fan will work in an area of 1100 - 1450 square feet in a building that is 16' - 21' in height. The down rod is 16".
