pump says it has a one inch pipe inlet, shouldn't this hose fit

Yes, the 1" suction hose will work with a water pump that has a 1" pump inlet that will accept a pipe thread coupling.

I have not purchased the 1" hose you referance but have the 2". In my experance (years of water system maintence) all suction hoses have NPT or fire hose thread connections. As this is not a fire hose it will have a MPT (male pipe thread) on one end that will mate with the 1" FPT on the pump. You will need a foot valve with a 1" brass or galvanized all thread if you are using it for the suction side of the pump.

Should work great. I added pipe fittings and a union for quick hookup and disconnect!

Question

i need to know how this hose performs in below freezing temperatures. does it crack if bent or become very stiff and brittle in freezing temperatures.

if flexibility and cracking are issues is there another hose you would recommend for this application and comparably priced and 20 ft length

The Apache PVC hose is rated for a temperatures range: -10 F to 130 F.

I use the hose in freezing weather, above about 25 deg, with no problems to transfer water. The hose stays reasonably flexible and hasn't cracked anywhere over the past 2 yrs.
