Can I install a inverter, hook up a battery charger and charge battery faster than discharge of amps drawn from inverter being used?

No. You can't get more energy out of a system than you put in.

This is a common dream of those seeking perpetual motion. This would violate the law of conservation of energy. You could actually go from this inverter to a charger and back to the battery, but you would find the current out of the charger to be less that that into the inverter. Conversion losses in the inverter and charger go out as heat energy.

This would make a good classroom demonstration. For information, search the internet for "thermodynamics", "conservation of energy" and "perpetual motion".

Power inverter GFCI protected

Does the power inverter item # 4572002 have any type of GFCI protection? Also, am I correct in thinking it is a modified sine wave rather than a true sine wave?

This is a modified sinewave inverter. While this unit does not feature ground fault protection, there is a system in place that will activate in the case of a short circuit.

This inverter is equipped with multiple internal fuses. When it is in short circuit state, the unit will switch to protective mode, and the digital display will show “OPP”.

On the digital inverter, both of the DC terminals on the back of the unit are input terminals from a power source and do need to be used to operate.
