When maintained properly the batteries will have a life span of about 5 years. The power hub unit does have a low battery indicator on it. When the voltage gets to low the inverter will automatically shut off. When the system is recharged it will automatically reconnect.

Question

Maximum Panels and controllers this system can handle?

I've purchased this system and want to add on about 1400 watts of panels with multiple controllers. Can this system handle this, if not what is the max it can handle? Will all these controllers be attached to the solar connection, or can any be attached to the wind connection?

This NPower Solar Power Package can handle up to a total of 450 watts of solar panel with the existing charge controller. Fourteen hundred watts of more solar panel would require 93.3 amps of charge controllers or four more, 30 amp chargers. Increasing the solar panels is not going to increase run time or output. It will charge the batteries faster. Solar and wind power can work well together. A qualified electrician should be consulted and employed to install these systems.

to have the wiring from the panels to the hub looking as inconspicuous as possible, I estimate my cable length around 50ft. with what I understand to be the max for this system, 3 panels, what gauge wire do I need to run? do you have something available, or do I need to make it with bulk cable?

To connect these 3 solar panels to the controller at 50 feet away, a 4 gauge wire would be needed. We do not offer this type of wire.

While the package comes with 300 watts of solar panels, the 1800 watts the package is rated at is the size of the inverter. The inverter determines the maximum amount of power that can be taken out the batteries at a given time.
