In the summer just turn off the thermostat, then the damper will close, no air will circulate with the damper closed. The panels will not get to hot in the summer. Unit will not have to vent in the summer.

There is a backdraft damper that is spring loaded that flips open when the fan comes on. It prevents cold air from coming in at night or cloudy days(when the sun is not shining). In the summer time it prevents hot air from coming in as well.

answer 2
There is a built in fan inside the collectors (1000G and 1500G and 1500G 2Pak) that pulls air from the botton of the collector from the house and circulates it up through the collector and exhausts it out the top vent. Cold air cannot get in because the unit ships with a backdraft damper that is spring loaded.

The panel comes framed and the back of the frame comes with 4 tapped holes (6MM Coarse Thread). So you will need to come up with your own mounting scheme. I mounted mine by cutting a 14 inch square of 1/2" T-111 siding I had left over, drilled the 4 holes in the siding and bought 4 flange head 6MM bolts that I screwed in from the back. Then I screwed my home made mounting bracket to the 1/2" siding using some 1/4" carriage bolts.

The SolarSheat can achieve thermal conversion efficiencies in upwards of 50%. Meaning that for every square meter of collector area, the SolarSheat can produce roughly 500 watts of thermal energy on a clear and sunny day. The SolarSheet is approximately 4.80 square meters. 4.80 square meters multiplied by 500 watts equals 2400 watts. 2400 watts coverts to just under 2.5 kilowatts thermal energy. Keep in mind this unit does produce usable electric energy. It collects heat produced by the sun and circulates it throughout the home.

These solar collectors are capable of raising your in home temperature 40-60 degrees. This rise in temperature will be closer to 60 degrees on sunny or clear days. On cloudier days, the heat produced will be less so the fans won't run as fast resulting in a temperature rise closer to 40-50 degrees, if needed. For instance, if your in home temperature is already 60 degrees, on a sunny day these collectors could raise the temp up an additional 60 degrees. The collectors come with a thermostat to keep your in home temperature maintained at the temp of your choice.

Question

Please clarify heat output data.

This item (456302) with 2 collector panels lists a heat output of "14 K BTU" with no unit of time shown.
Item 456300, a single panel, shows a heat output of "20,400 BTU/day".
I'm confused as to how a single panel can have can collect more heat than a twin panel.
Please clarify this for me. Thank you !
