If you are on a flat smooth surface, with out obstructions, it measures very well. With a smaller wheel you have advantages and disadvantages. If you are measuring a small area it works great but if you go long distances and have to go over gravel, grass you won't get an accurate measurement. Like anything its as good as the operator. they are great for taking quick measurements and will just about fit under your set in a truck. You can use a larger wheel if you are measuring more than 50' and mark the inside of you wheel to get it down to the inch or 10th of a foot. The smaller wheels have to be kept in a straight line to get a good measurement. I see a lot of realtor's using these to estimate square footage.
