This Pieh Tool 1 1/4in. Cone Mandrel is for hammering barstock into perfect conical rings or scroll shapes. It sits in the anvil's hardy hole vertically and has a purpose similar to the horn on an anvil. In years past mandrels were also used to make bindings for wheel hubs. Mini-mandrel cone fits into anvil hardy, vise or swage block hole. Shank is not tapered. Approx. 8in. long overall 5 3/4in. from base to tip. Diameter starts at 2 1/2in. and tapers to 3/16in. point. U.S.A. Shank Style 1 1/4in. square.
