While this lubricant is designed for chainsaw bars and chains it would also lubricate in tap and die applications.

Bar & chain oil is designed to 'Cling to the bar'. What you need is a very light fluid oil to lube & cool your tool. Oil is Oil. The additive package is used to perfect it's final use.
eg: rear end lube, engine oil with detergent, wheel bearing packing, kero for home heating oil. Home heating oil, automatic transmission fluid or WD-40 would be better for your needs than chain & bar oil. When you cut threads your tap gets real hot from the friction. Lighter oils will help cool your tool. Hope this helps. Good luck, Speedy
