I didn't measure them, but they are heavy duty cylinders about two feet long. They work very well.

The size of the cylinders are 3" x 12". The extended length is 34.25", and retracted length is 22 1/4".

Maximum towing speed is 30 MPH under good driving condictions. Item must be securely attached with a locking bolt and safety chains with ample turning slack. Use slow moving vehicle sign when on the road.

Question
How difficult is it to move?
I need to do some digging around the edge of a pond. Once in place, I will only be digging for a short time before having to move six or eight feet along the edge. Can it be dragged by hand (two people) or do I have to hook it back up to a trailer hitch again?

This Northstar Trencherman Backhoe comes with instructions on how to move while in digging mode. This should only be attempted when the individual is comfortable with the controls, and is away from hazards. For instructions take a look at the manual located in the description tab, under contact links. Instructions are on page 10 of the manual.

The NorthStar Trencherman Backhoe is not designed to lift solid objects. The backhoe will remove rocks that are in the soil but is designed only to be used with light soil. The capacity of the bucket is 1500 cubic inch. The information does not offer a weight capacity.

This trencherman backhoe ships in a crate that measures 44"W X 95"L X 48H". The overall shipping dimensions(as the arm/support sticks out of the crate) are 44"W X 130"L X 80"H.
