Question
Can a single lubricator be used in multiple work stations?
We have a metal fabrication business and we plan to switch to air tools from electric. We have 4 work stations that will have a single source of air (air compressor) plus a paint booth that will also get air from the same system. Do we just need one lubricator from the source or do we need to install one for each work station?

You would need to have a lubricator at each work station. Size whether 3/8" or 1/2" depending on what size tools are being use in each station. For the paint station you will want a filter not a lubricator/regulator.

My opinion- if the lubricator is at/near the end of the circuit with short runs to each of the workstations, that would be fine. I would not put the lubricator/reg too far upstream, otherwise you will be essentially 'lubricating' the inside of your airhose and accummulating all the oil in your air lines. More importantly, you DO NOT WANT THE LUBRICATOR ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR PAINT BOOTH CIRCUIT!! This will be the death of a paint job. Make sure you design the circuit for the paint booth such that you tap into the line after a reg/water trap/filter but before the lubricator (and have a dedicated airhose just for painting).
