Question

When it is locked around the hitch ball is it able to swivel back and forth?

Just want to if there would be two pivot points when you are backing up the trailer one swivel around the ball and one around the hitch pin at the trailer. tounge? Seems that would make backing up a trailer more unpredictable

When the Yard Tuff Pintle Hitch is locked around the hitch ball, the trailer will be able to swivel at that point.

so if it attaches permantly to vehicle, do you have to bolt each attachment on and off before and after each use?

It does not attach permanently, This lawn and garden hitch slides over any 1 7/8in. or 2in. ball and creates a connection for pin-style hitches up to 2in.W. To change attachments, you may use a hitch pin or bolt.

absolutely not--It locks around the neck of the ball. There's a small pin you have to pull out & after hooking up you have to insert pin to secure the lock. Simple!!
