This state-of-the-art lead-acid battery from UPG produces higher cranking amps, along with lower self-discharge and greater vibration resistance. AGM (absorbed glass mat) battery design requires no water additions and can be operated in any position and in close proximity to people and sensitive equipment. Volts: 12, Amps: 90 Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) technology for superior performance Sealed, no-leak design Heavy-duty, no-corrosion terminals Valve regulated spill proof construction allows safe operation in any position Approved for transport by air, DOT, IATA, FAA, and CAB certified 12 Volts 12.05in.L x 6.6in.W x 9.1in.H 90Amps @ 20 hrs.
If you are connecting to two 12 volt batteries series would increase the voltage to 24 volts. That could damage the inverter or any other 12v item you wish to power.
YOU SHOULD BE CONNECTING THE BATTERIES IN PARALLEL TO MAINTAIN 12 VOLTS WHILE INCREASING THE STORAGE CAPACITY.
It's also advisable to use two of the same type and size of battery. This way if you are charging the batteries together one battery will not be over or under charged.

When creating a battery bank from 12 volt batteries the batteries should be wired in parallel to maintain 12 volts. The best way to create a battery bank is to use batteries with identical amperage output and start with fully charged batteries that are in good condition. By setting up a battery bank in this manner you will ensure that the batteries are evenly charging and discharging. Keeping current even throughout the battery bank will lead the longest service life of the batteries.

Question
Solar Power Applicability
I am writing to confirm that this is a deep cycle battery. I understand that the AGM types are safer with respect to acid spills but don't know that they are necessarily deep cycle units. Please contact me regarding this.
Thanks

Yes, this is a deep cycle battery. They are non-hazardous and non-spillable. They don't require water additions and can be operated in any position and in close proximity to people and sensitive equipment.
All inverters run on a 12 volt battery. It could be used on our highest wattage inverter of 5000 watts. The higher the wattage the faster it may drain the battery. You may consider adding more batteries in succession for longer run time.
I would recommend a minimum of a 15 watt solar panel for charging the battery. Item #121179 would be a good solar panel for this.
