Additional compatible remotes are available through Northern Tool, the factory website, a local Mighty Mule dealer, or a web based dealer. You select a code based on multiple three position DIP switches.

Just wondering if it comes with all of the hardware required for installation and if it includes the control box that makes the actuator open or close the gate.

Yes, this does come with all of the hardware required for installation and it does include the control box that makes the actuator open and close the gate.

The package includes enough parts and pieces to complete an "open in" installation. An "open out" installation requires an additional bracket. Depending on your gate and your post, you may need to supplement the fasteners that are also included.

All Mighty Mule Packages will come with control boards, boxes, and everything needed for the opener to work. Some packages have additional accessories included, that can always be purchased separately as well.

The package includes all the basics needed for an "open in" set-up. I needed an extra piece for my "open out" installation which I found at a local retail dealer.

What voltage does this operate on?

This gate will not be close to 120 volt so I need one that operates on a 12 volt battery with a solar charger

The gate opener is powered by a battery that is kept charged by a 120 volt transformer. If the opener is located far from a AC power outlet (or greater than 1,000 feet) you can charge the battery with an optional solar panel. The item # is 3467. Please see below.

Question

What exactly is included?

The lower priced 500 states that it includes an 18v AC transformer...this more expensive one (STP) does not list that in the "Included." The other one also listed the control box and the control board. I am assuming those are included in this one as well and just not listed.

The FM500-STP will include everything listed with the FM500, but will also include 2 extra transmitters(3 total) and a keypad.
