What does this model detect?

Will this model detect other objects like deer, dogs, cats, racoons etc? I live in a country setting, I see it detects people and vehicles. Thank you

I would say it depends on how low you install the sensor, the higher off the ground the less likely to sense the animals

This model will detect people, animals and vehicles, so it is wise to mount it higher than a large dog, thats it.

I live in the country also. Yes the unit will pick up everything. However if installed as recomened and adjusted for your needs it works well with very few false alarms.

You can adjust the sensor sensitivity and height off of the ground.
Mine is adjusted so that I am picking up only people and vehicles.

The sensor will detect anything that passes in front of it. There is an option to adjust the sensitivity to help avoid "false alarms" from wildlife and pets.

When additional sensors are added, they will sound with more beeps. Example, the first sensor will beep once, the second sensor will beep twice, and so on.

I have two sensors, Sensor one beeps twice, sensor two beeps three times, I would imagine it continues in this order but not positive as I have only two.

You can change the number of beeps for each sensor, but they will sound the same

No, each has it's own unique signal so you know which one was activated, the first has one long tone, the second has two tones , the third has three tones and so on. The base unit reciever volume is adjustable and full volume is pretty loud

This Chamberlain wireless motion alert system has a sensor that is weatherproof, so there is no need to shelter it. The receiver can be located in the house up to 1/2 mile away if there is little to no interference.

That's the normal configuration. I have a unit that's a few years old and the sensor came with a weather hood, but is not weather tight.

Yes, there is a 120vac wall wart provided in addition to the batteries that can be installed. The batteries should last about 1 week, use 4 AA alkaline.....

Question

base station elevation

I purchased this system about a year ago. It worked for about a month then stopped. I called the company rep and they said if the base station is more then 10 feet higher then the sensor it will not receive the signal. Is this an upgrade from that model? is it elevation sensitive?
does the sensor need to be line of sight with the receiver?

My base station is well higher, and 200 plus yards away from my base station, I haven't had an issue. Try replacing the batteries, if that doesn't work, send it back.

Line of sight is not required. If significant obstructions are between the sensor and the base unit (i.e. steel and concrete buildings), range may be reduced. Try going through the process of programming the base unit to the sensor again.

Obstructions would limit the systems ability to function properly. It works best with line of sight operation.

Yes, the sensors are what are called passive Infrared and detect the heat difference between an object and the background as it moves accross in front of the sensor.

As long as the sensor is permanently fixed to a post (that could be relocated from one destination to the next) it will work anywhere.

Both the receiver and transmitter run on batteries. The receiver can also be run with an AC adapter and if you were to use the adapter it could be run on an inverter.
