These brackets are to be used with the industry standard 1.5" x 11.5".

Yes, I bought a standard 12' - 2"X12" cut that half and it worked fine.

The kit instructions showed the ends need to be cut on a 15 degree angle.

These steel top brackets feature a 700 lbs. gross weight capacity per ramp or 1400 lbs. capacity per set.

The brackets are tough and are very heavy. If you dropped a bracket on your foot, it would hurt. Each bracket is rated for 700 pounds which is 1,400 for the set. This is much less than 2,000 pounds.
