Question

Potential uses.

Hi, per the demo video, I see that this unit would work well on flat car surfaces. What about using it to remove paint on things like wrought iron fences? Please advise back on this. Thanks, John

The unit is designed to remove rust, paint and debris off of a flat or curved surface in a auto, marine or industrial setting. It would work for that application but you would loose some of the abrasive effectiveness and it would not reclaim the product where there are gaps.

answer 2
Strips paint fast ! Used mine on wrought Iron gates. You do have to be careful using sand on car bodies. If you stay in one spot too long it will heat up the thin metal and cause distortion.

The Uniram Dust-Free Abrasive Blaster and Vacuum could be used on wood. Northern Tool would recommend using a softer medium, such as aluminum oxide or walnut shells when working with softer materials. See links below.

Staff Answer
This abrasive blaster and vacuum requires air pressure of 75-160 psi depending on the surface you're cleaning. The air volume required is 8-22 cfm(optimally: 16-20 cfm). A compressor capable of producing the higher cfm's and psi's listed would be ideal.
