You can mount a ladies bike on the rack. You would need the ladies bike adapter bar item #330741 to attach to the bike.

yes, depending on the pitch of the rail. most ladies bikes need an adapter bar no matter what rack you get

The bicycles would have to be removed in order to open the tailgate.
