How does the ramp secure to the tailgate?

What direction does the ramp fold?

Does the ramp fold down (in) if I get one I would like to layer it with thin wood to use a dolly on it, so would it still fold if I put wood on it?

The ramp does fold in. If you put a thin wood on the ramp it would still be able to fold.
