can this pump be used to pump water off of a pool cover? Can the float be de-activated?

This pump is not designed to be used without the float switch. Northern does carry 2 pool cover pumps and utility pumps. Item #'s for pool cover pumps are 28736 and 496881.

The Wayne Submersible Stainless Steel/Cast Iron Sump Pump is self priming. The Max total head is how far the pump will lift and push a liquid. Lift plus head equals max total head.
