answer 2
Generac’s 200 Amp Manual Transfer Switch, model number 6335, does not feature a pilot light that indicates the return of utility power. When power returns to your home, the appliances in your home will briefly turn off while transferring back to utility power, then turn back on once the transfer is complete; this should alert you that utility power has returned. As we do not manufacture the units with this feature, we cannot recommend any modifications to add one. Please note that if you choose to add a pilot light, such modifications would void the product’s warranty.

Question

50 Amp Male Power Inlet?

Does this mean I don't need a separate, weathertight box to connect the generator to the transfer switch? It is already integrated into the unit?

If not, what weathertight boxes would be appropriate for this switch?

If this box is placed between the meter and main power 200 amp panel then the main power can be disconnected and the generator connected via the Reliance 50 Amp cord, shown in my attachments, to a plug that comes as part of the transfer switch, correct?

The manual transfer switch can be sized both ways, either based on the largest available receptacle on the generator and the amount of circuits needed to be covered, or can be sized based on your incoming utility, depending on which set up would best meet your needs.

answer 2
The manual transfer switch can be sized both ways, either based on the largest available receptacle on the generator and the amount of circuits needed to be covered, or can be sized based on your incoming utility, depending on which set up would best meet your needs. The manual transfer switch model 6335, is a 200 amp service-entrance rated switch designed to mount on the outside of a house or building next to the utility meter, and would then connect to the load center indoors; this switch would be sized based on your incoming utility. This particular switch allows you to feed generator power to your entire load center and manually turn off selected loads up to the capacity of the generator. The switch also includes a locking plug for quick generator cord connection, and extra spaces for up to 12 branch circuits to feed other panels like a barn, a detached garage, or a workshop.
