The drawers are all 23" w x 14.7" d. The only difference is that the top three drawers are 2.4" high, the next two are 4.8", and the bottom drawer is 6.9" high.

The side handle is metal and it attached to the tool box. It is not removable.

do the drawers snap closed?

do they have a catch or are they free rolling. I need a tool cabinet for inside a trailer but I dont need them freely opening.

The drawers will not snap close on the tool chest. By locking the cabinet with the key and lock provided, the drawers will not open freely.
