The 10 watt solar panel provided with this fan is sufficient to run it. Adding another solar panel would not be necessary.

Question

Looking to buy this ventilator with the temp controls. I notice it goes from solar power to AC. Is there a way it can be run using 12v batteries?

when the sun goes down and not run off AC or do I have to get an inverter to plug it into for the evening time. Its being used at a remote cabin and we are moving air from the loft to the basement through a duct. so when we run the fire place at night time i want to pull hot air from the peak of the cabin where its going to be the hottest to the basement. I have a generator but dont want to run it if i can use 12v power to run the fan and controls.

If using 12 volt batteries, you would need to use an inverter to convert to 120 volt for use with the Solar Controller, sold separately. See link below for the required controller.
