Northern Tool does not have an option for dielectric rope. You could purchase dielectric rope of the same length and diameter to use on this Tiger Shark winch and keep the same performance ratings of the winch.

Question

Will this take a synthetic rope?

I would prefer a synthetic type rope with this winch.
Since I would be saving a nice chunk of change compared to the Warn brand, I could put that $ toward that.

At peak load, this winch could spike up to 340 amps. At no load it draws 80 amps. A DC outlet off a generator rated at 5 amps is not going run this winch.

answer 2
Probably not. The winch comes with wiring and all the mounting bolts and nuts for the winch and the roller fairlead, but what are you going to bolt them to? You will need a flat plate or a structural mounting bracket to bolt the winch to, and a bracket to bolt the fairlead to. These are not provided with the winch and may need to be custom made for your application the way you want them installed. Depending on your application, a ready made mounting braket may be available, but it would be best if you can weld or know a weldor who can help you make a custom mounting. This is likely true of any winch by any manufacturer. The instruction manual is well written and will answer most of your installation questions. A local weldor can help with the rest.

answer 3
Yes, mounting bolts, power cables, winch line, hook, and operating control come with it.
The only thing you have to purchase separately is the mounting plate that is specific to your style, and vehicle.

If this is used as a recovery winch, there would be no recovery time. If it is used for industrial purposes, 30 seconds at full load would require 30 minute cool down.
