Questions & Answers for NorthStar NSQ Series 12V On-Demand Diaphragm Pump - 3 GPM @ 60 PSI

Question

Can the pressure valve be modified

Are you able to adjust the pressure which the regulator turns on and off the motor? Could I have the pressure regulated at 40 (43 to be precise) psi.
Additionally, how does the pressure regulation work, is it a switch which is activated at a designated pressure or is it an analog signal?

The pressure switch reacts to outlet pressure, and interrupts power at the preset shut-off pressure indicated on the pump label. This should not be modified. A bypass regulator like the one listed below would be required to set the line pressure lower than the factory setting of the pump.

Question

Flow Rate at 60 psi

In the product description it says the pump has a flow rate of 3 GPM at 60psi but I would appreciate conformation. Is this the case, or is the flow rate reduced at 60 psi?

The maximum temperature this pump can handle would be 140 degrees. The pump itself will also create heat so you would not want to put water through the pump that is 140 degrees. Exceeding the 140 degrees would cause the pump/seals to fail.

You would not be able to install a pressure regulator on this pump. We would recommend pump item #520723 that you can install a pressure regulator on.
