Apparently not. However, you can rotate the nozzle so it only sprays to one side, so you'd get more material coming out, but in a more narrow patter to one side.

I hooked it up to the battery on an ATV without any issues. I believe the draw is small enough for use with most battery/alternator equiped equipment. If trying to operate with just on battery power, the reserve capacity of the battery will determine run time.

Most anything that is 12v will work. It's 26 gal and 2.2 gpm, so it's only going to run for about 10-12 minutes at a time. A car battery, an RV battery, even a small motorcycle battery would work fine.

The NorthStar ATV Sprayer can not be used with kerosene. This can only be used with non-flammable liquids such as pesticides and water based sealants or stains.

This broadcast/spot sprayer includes a 6' wire for connection to the battery. It's necessary for you to measure the distance on your Ranger from the sprayer placement area to the battery to ensure 6' is long enough. A wire with a cigarette lighter adapter is available but not included with this sprayer. The wire with the cigarette lighter adapter is item #779179. It can be ordered over the phone since it doesn't appear on Northern's website. Please call 1-800-221-0516 to verify price and availability.

Dear Moby1953:
Yes the cord is long enough.
I would suggest that you buy a cigarette lighter plug and wire it directly to the sprayer cord.

The clips are hard wired to the switch. You would have to either create an adapter for the clips or cut and splice the wires.

answer 4
Comes with clips only. You could always modify that & attach a plug adapter. The power cord is 8' long. The switch is 2.5' from the clips. For a rear battery setup, like my Gator, the switch is so close to the battery clips, I can't reach it from the seat. I thought about modifying the cord and adding some length between the switch and the clips. In the end, I just put a car battery temporarily in the bed of the Gator, so it's up front near me, and then I can run the switch from the seat as I drive around spraying.

The gallons per acre is determined by the speed traveled during application. Please view application chart in the manual. The sprayer is designed to strap to an ATV rack and a lawn mower would require a similar rack.

answer 2
Depends on how fast you drive the ATV. I tried to drive at about 3-4 MPH and easily covered an acre with 26 gallons. Info on mixture rates comes with the product you purchase to put in the sprayer. The sprayer mounts perfectly on the rear ATV rack; nor sure if it would fit a ZTR.

answer 6
The answer is "it depends". Mainly it depends on how heavily you want it applied and thus how fast you drive. I put down 26 gal of Roundup on a plot probably between 3/4 acre and 1 acre. A few weeks later, I drove the same area and killed what had come up new, using about 12 gallons that time - so I drove faster.

It doesn't come with instructions on how heavily to apply things. You will need to get that info from the packaging on whatever product you are using. The product mfg will tell you how heavily it should be applied.

With 26 gal and 2.2 gpm, figure you have about 10 minutes to empty the tank and so drive accordingly. So for Roundup, my guess is you'd need 3 tanks to do 3 acres. If in doubt, I'd suggest driving faster, then go over the same area again if you covered the area and still have material left in the tank.

You could always start by filling it with water and try a test run to see how much ground you cover at a certain speed before it runs out.

You could mount it on most anything, with a little ingenuity and making some brackets, etc

Dear Cajun54:
The sprayer comes with a 15 fool hose, also the entire unit is portable.
By adding as much as 100 feet you will reduce the flow rate and the sprayer may not give a spray pattern that will work for you.
