Mounts from the inside of the wall, avoiding the time and expense of dismantling and replacing siding. Totally enclosed 120V direct drive motor has 2 speeds and is permanently lubricated. U.S.A. Fan Diameter (in.): 24, Air Delivery (CFM): 2,770/3,400, Volts: 120, Speeds (qty.): 2, Dimensions L x W x H (in.): 27 x 14 1/2 x 25, Needs to be Hardwired: Yes For new or existing construction 2-speed, 2770/3400 CFM enclosed motor ensures rapid ventilation Permanently lubricated When fan is turned on, shutter automatically opens; when fan is turned off, shutter automatically closes to seal out the elements Fan is isolated from shutters with rubber pads to eliminate vibration and noise Includes junction box for hardwiring

Question

Is this fan rated for outdoor use? How do you change the speeds?

Fan will be mounted above the screen panels of a screened porch. If shutters are open and it rains, would this damage the fan blades or the motor?

The fan is not rated for outdoor use. Water would eventually damage the motor. The speed of the fan is controlled by a pull chain.

No. The air current from the fan opens the shutters. When the fan is off, the shutters are closed. When the fan is operating, the air flow and the angle of the louvers keep the rain out.

The fan is to be mounted on an exterior wall, with the louvers on the outside. Speeds are changed by a pull-chain switch, just like on your ceiling fan.

Does this fan come in two pieces? my wall is 8 inches thick. i need to know if i will get a inside mounting plate for the fan and then a plate for the outside louvers.

No, this TPI shutter-mounted exhaust fan is a single unit that mounts to your inside wall and eliminates the need for external framing and shutter.

One piece. The fan unit can be separated from the louvers, but then there would be no guard on the outside.

Yes. It is recommended to be mounted with the louvers mounted to the outside of the house and the fan on the inside. I replaced a window with mine, and modified the framing specifically for this fan. a 3/4" piece of plywood with a round hole cut into it was what I attached the fan housing to.

The electrical amp draw of this unit on high speed is 2.5 amps.
You will need to contact your local electrician to determine the wire gauge.

It pulls ALL the air out. I have mine mounted in the garage, and it will exchange all the air in my 1600 sq. ft. house in about 5 minutes
