Does this unit have to be hooked up to a hose or do you more or less fill the tank with water and go?

What is "dry mist?" It seems like a contradiction in terms. Does the "wet" mist actually get blown in the area that the fan can service?

How would this work in a lower level that is already humid? I am assuming it would add to the dampness problem.

I saw in the reviews that this type of unit does not work in a humid climate only in dry locations. Is the performance decreased in a humid climate or it simply does not perform at all?

This KuulAire Evaporative cooler works better in dry locations. This Evaporative Cooler puts moisture in the air, if this was used in a humid climate, it might make the room more humid and damp.

There are many variables to be considered. The unit does take about 30 minutes to prime. Then it would depend on how hot the room is and how big the room is for how long it would take it to drop the temperature 10 degrees or more. An estimate would be about an 1 1/2 hours to drop 10 degrees.
