The Port-A-Cool evaporative cooling unit cools the air by using water trickled over specially designed cooling pads and a fan to disperse the cooled air. This process will raise the ambient humidity in the cooled area but not enough to damage machinery any more than a humid day would.

I am so sorry for the delayed response. I noticed today that my submission last week did not go through and I apologize for the lapse of time.
Evaporative coolers do add 1-2% humidity to the ambient air. This is
insignificant compared to the natural swing in relative humidity
throughout the day. If, however, you use an evaporative cooler indoors
without any source of ventilation, the air will be re-circulated and
eventually build significant humidity in the room.
The cure for this is quite easy. As long as you open a window or a door
allowing for some outside airflow, you will not have any issues at all.
Port-A-Cool portable evaporative coolers are used in very technical
areas such as repair shops for airplane avionics where humidity control
I hope this answer helps. Please let us know if you have any additional
