NPower Expert
Yes, the 35 Watt NPower Crystalline Solar Panel would require a charge controller. A 7 amp controller, the smallest we sell, would be able to handle up to 105 watts of crystalline panels. If tying more than 3 together, you would require a larger controller. See link below.

Short answer: Probably not.
Long answer: If your battery is small enough it may work. The amount of power a battery will hold is measured in amp hours (Ah). While sunlight varies from day to day and what part of the country you live in, this will produce an average of about 10 Ah per day. Most likely, your battery is much larger.

Do the crystalline cell's work better in low and off center light sources than amorphous cells?

For crystalline panels, you can expect 1 amp output for every 15 watts of panel in ideal sun. In optimal sun, it will produce 2.33 amp hours. While it is less, the panels do not have a rated output in cloudy conditions. Amorphous panels will produce slightly more power in low light and will even work with artificial light. The crystalline panels will produce more in sunlight which, if used permanently outdoors, is most always going to offset the less power made in lower light conditions. On average, amorphous panels will produce 1 amp for every 17.1 watts of panel.
