I have cut limbs and trees at least 4" in diameter. It goes and goes. I did buy the heavy duty back up and frankly I have not been disappointed. This is not a toy. I got several hours off the first charge and it was working much of that time. It is handy and does more than expected.

I have used this little saw numerous times on small limbs and small trees. I am impressed by its ability to cut and get the job done. I have a regular power saw, but when I'm trimming brush and small trees this is the saw to use.

The 30+ is referring to the run time on a charge. This would be 30 minutes or more. The batteries are good at up to 2000 charges.

I have no idea what 30+ means, but I know the battery lasts a long time on a single charge. I am very impressed with the tool, it feels good and does a goo job for me.
