Yes. The post upon which the included 2-inch ball is mounted is threaded, so swapping the ball is easily done.

I currently use a 2" ball on mine, but I can tell you that the ball goes on by screwing into threads on the post which is adjustable and removable. I don't know if the 2" and 2 5/16" ball have the same thread sizes.

Keep in mind that you are not towing the trailer. You are simply creating a pivot point on top of the trailer dolly. The 2" ball will work perfectly with a 2-5/16" coupler.

The Ultra-Tow Trailer Dolly has a tongue weight capacity up to 1000 lbs. The tires on the unit work best on concrete or hard surfaces. This will work on a lawn but will have more resistance with the type of surface.

The dolly can handle the load if you can physically handle it. Be careful if you are on a downhill slope.

answer 3
Moving anything with a dolly across a lawn depends on a lot of variables. The biggest issue is the soil condition. Is it muddy, has it been dry for several months. I'd say it will work but the lawn conditions will govern.

It will not collapse. The issue is with your "push/pull" power. If you have help to push and pull the trailer the dolly certainly step up to the task of steering.

Hand brake?

Is there any way to add a hand brake to the dolly? My concrete drive has a slight slope and I want to ensure my 18' fiberglass bowrider boat does not get away from me.

I had the same question/concern when I received this dolly. I came to the conclusion that if you engaged a brake on a down slope, you'd probably lock the wheel and the weight of the boat would cause the dolly to skid. Your best bet might be to put a couple of 2"x4"s or wheel chocks where you want the back wheels of the boat trailer to end up. That oughta stop her !

Question

Use on bare ground

Has anybody given feedback on how this performs when used on bare ground? I'm seeing good feedback when used on pavement, but I need to move my trailer on dirt to get it my truck. Any opinions on this would be great.

This trailer dolly performs best on pavement. When used on hard-packed ground or dirt, it will perform similarly. It won't perform as well on softer ground or sandy areas.

answer 2
The larger tires on the unit would make moving a trailer fairly easy. My experience is somewhat limited on gravel but I have used it on slopes on asphalt and some gravel and it works fine.

If the ground is muddy, loose soil, sand, gravel not so good. Any dolly will have issues. The only option there would be a power dolly. Very expensive. $$$$
