Question

Can this clutch be used to run a chain straight to the axle?

I have a10 hp tecumseh engine and before i had an old style centrifugal clutch that was belt driven. It went back to a sprocket and the sprocket was driven turned when the clutch engaged on the belt. Now i want to run a chain to a sprocket that is on the axle. Would this work? And would i loose any power?

The Hilliard Extreme-Duty Centrifugal Clutch item # 233515 can be run on your Tecumseh engine and will use a #35 chain. There would be minimal difference between belt and chain driven.

The clutch measures 4 inches in diameter and is 2 inches thick, where drive shaft would go through.

A set screw is not included with the centrifugal clutches because they are a two piece assembly.
