This NorthStar® ATV Sprayer with Boomless Spray System is great for applying chemicals to large and small areas. Tank has large fill neck for easy spill free use. Dependable NorthStar on-demand pump. Heavy droplet pattern for minimal drift. Unique broadcast nozzles cover a 40-ft. area with no boom arms to break and have left/right nozzle control. Remote switch to turn on boom from vehicle. Question
I'm concerned the pump will empty the tank in less than 5 minutes causing me to run out of spray too early or to rush my work. Can you comment?
If the pump is putting out 5.5 GPM, theoretically, the 26 gallon tank will be drained in less than 5 minutes. Can the pump be "throttled down" to a lower capacity to allow me to spray continuously for 10-15 minutes or more?

Yes, the amount of flow is adjusted by the spray nozzle. This unit will pump 5.5 gpm when the nozzle is opened all the way and less as the nozzle is restricted creating the cone pattern rather than the straight stream.

I used this sprayer to prep for white tail food plots. With approx. 26 gals. of mixed herbacide I sprayed for at least 20 min. making sure to use the power switch to shut it off when cornering/manuvering.

Question
I'd like to use this spray rig to "spray to the side." Please comment on the availability of this feature.
The product data advertises that this spray rig has a 40' wide spray swath. I'd like to be able to turn one side off and only spray to one side or the other, in an effort to spray right of ways, firelanes, etc. I will be using this spray rig from my truck, and not on an ATV, so I won't be able to get into very rough terrain, and I'd like to be able to spray out into areas beyond the road that I'm driving on. Does this boomless spray system allow for that type of adjustability? If one side is turned off, I would assume that the other side would still spray out at least 20 feet. Can you comment more about why I should choose this spray rig considering the type of use?

Yes, if you cut the valve off on one side it will only spray on the other side. Another feature I like is that if you are using the spray wand, when you stop spraying the pump will turn off by itself and start back up when you resume spraying.

On this Northstar ATV Sprayer with Boomless Spray System you can "spray to the side" There is a connection on the back of the nozzles there is a "shutoff valve". You can turn one off, etc. You would then spray 20 feet.

Question
Can the spray be cone shaped and have the cone limited to a couple of feet on either side of the ATV vs the whole space behind the ATV?
I am looking to use this product to sit on the back of my ATV to provide weed control at the base of Christmas trees planted in long rows. The rows are spaced about 6-7 feet apart. Riding between rows of Christmas trees, I want to spray be limited to just the 1-2 feet from the base of the trees on either row - not the whole space between the rows.Can this be achieved?

This kit is made to broadcast over a 40 ft width. It will probably not be possible to adjust the spray pattern down to a 6 to 7 ft width. Item # 268195 features a single spray nozzle and has a maximum of a 14 ft spray width, it could be adjusted to achieve the 6 to 7 ft. spray width that you need, when it is used with one of the sprayer units that are listed in the description. Probably. The nozzles can be rotated fairly easily. Just use one nozzle (they have individual shut off valves) and maybe a deflector out of sheet metal or plastic to narrow the spray.

This NorthStar sprayer has an adjustable set screw located near the pressure switch to allow for pressure adjustment, you can tighten or loosen the set screw while spraying and read the gauge to set the correct pressure.

This sprayer can be mounted in a pickup bed. The broadcast bracket though is designed to attach to the hitch on the ATV so it may not readily bolt on a truck hitch. The sprayer does include tie down straps for mounting. Any other type of mounting would be determined by the purchaser.

Yes - its the heighth off the ground that you should be trying to solve. If youre to high, the amount of spray or liquid will be to little,or you could go slower. This product was designed for a ATV but I have mine mounted in a small trailer that I pull behind my rideing lawn mower. Just think out of the box,it will work.

How do I connect the broadcast sprayer?
It looks like the broadcast sprayer attaches to a draw bar on an atv. My atv has a receiver hitch, not a draw bar. How would I connect this to it?

The sprayer comes with two broadcast nozzles that adjust from a straight stream to a hollow cone spray that can provide you with a 10' wide spray pattern.
