These suspension end units have a 10 degree below start angle, the arm is 8.5" long and the measurement between the center of the spindle and the mounting surface is approximately 1.5" in an unloaded condition.

These torsion axle suspension units are not adjustable. I the trailer sits too high for the hitch I would recommend purchasing a different ball mount that sits higher.

The reliable rubber torsion axle suspension unit has 1" spindles. Therefore, you would need to order hubs that have 1" bearings. Typically these have a 2000# rating. See the attached example.

The manufacturer does not recommend cutting the suspension units in any way, which can affect the integrity of the unit. In order handle 1700 lbs, we would recommend going with a 2,000 lb capacity unit. See link below.
