Ball bearings on crank shaft?

Does the crankshaft of the engine ride on ball bearings or sleeve bearings? Perhaps you could give me a link to a parts catalog and I could look it up myself.

Compatibility between the GP5500 and another brand’s transfer switch cannot be guaranteed, as the generators are tested for compatibility with only Generac products. Appropriate connection methods should be discussed with a certified electrician.

The Generac Portable Generators GP and XG series, use Gererac engines, but do not use the same engines. There is a difference in the design between the two series, in appearance and options,

answer 2
The engine in the GP series is the Generac OHV. The XP and XG series feature the Generac OHVI engine, with the “I” meaning industrial grade. The OHV engine is a splash oil system without a filter, whereas the OHVI engine has a spin on oil filter with a pressurized oil system. The OHVI engine is designed for longer run times if power outages last more than a few days.

Staff Answer
Generac does not list the decibel (noise) rating for portable generators. There is no industry standard for testing decibel ratings on portable generators. Therefore, any results can be misleading or inaccurate. The total harmonic distortion for the GP series generators is greater than 6%, and not recommended for sensitive electronics. The Generac XP series has True Power technology, with Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) less than 5%, and would be recommended for sensitive equipment. Please see my recommendation below.
