I have personally used it for oxy, but would recommend not doing so. The lowest setting still makes for a hard time seeing the flame for oxy.

The Wel-Bilt Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet is not suitable for laser welding or oxyacetylene welding/cutting processes. Welding goggles are most commonly used when gas welding. Please see below for a few goggles that will work great.

It's solar powered so the battery recharges, and takes no time at all to be able to use it again. The solar panel is above the view port.

Like most the shield will darken but then will turn to a light shade of green as the battery losses more power. Everything will start to be just a little brighter. it is time to change the battery or bite the bullet and get a new helmet.

I don't know how long it takes to run low, but this is my second helmet and I think the first lasted about 10 years and then it seemed like it was flashing me a lot more, but for the price I just bought a new one.

This welding helmet doesn't require any of the accessories listed in the "Top Accessories" section. The headgear listed is a replacement if the original headgear breaks or fails. The most common accessories purchased for this welding helmet are the lens kit and the helmet bag. The helmet's lens over time will get scratched/scuffed reducing visibility and thereby requiring a replacement. The helmet bag not only protects the lens, but also the helmet from getting scratched or scuffed. Click the links below to view those two accessories.

No, But I use it for grinding and it works fine for me.
Only issue outside where I live is that if the sun is too strong , the lens will darken. You have turn out of the sun or if you can make some shade. The higher priced helmets have a grinding setting.
