Northern Industrial Welders introduces a TIG torch with a built-in gas valve that gives you another welding application to complete your projects — scratch start DC TIG (steel, stainless steel). Machine end of torch has a twist-lock connector to plug directly into the machine. Three nozzle sizes and collets for use with varying sizes of tungsten. Machine adjustment knob controls amperage. Full-length fabric cover with zipper closure holds and protects power cable and gas hose. Application: TIG welding, Works With: ST80i stick welder or MS200X MIG/stick welder, Cable Length (ft.): 10, Compatible With Item Number (s): 25494 & 20307 Compatible with Northern Industrial Welders models ST80i stick, and MS200X hybrid MIG/stick welders (Item#s 25494 and 20307 - sold separately).

Can you weld aluminum with the TIG? If not, why not?
I saw an answer, from your experts, to a question about the Hybrid MIG/Stick 200 Welder, Item# 20307, that stated that you could not weld aluminum with the TIG; that you could only weld steel with the TIG. Is that so? And if that is true, why can you not weld aluminum with the TIG on this machine?

The Northern Industrial Welding 10’ TIG Torch is for the Hybrid MIG/STICK 200 welder. The Hybrid MIG/Stick 200 welder does not have AC output or High Frequency Output needed for TIG Welding Aluminum. Welding aluminum with the Hybrid MIG/Stick 200 can be done using Aluminum Stick Welding or MIG welding aluminum with the supplied spool gun.

This TIG torch is compatible with our item numbers 20307 and 25494. The gas regulator is included with Northern Industrial Welders Hybrid MIG/Stick 200 (item #20307). The Northern Industrial ST80i Inverter-Based Stick Welder (item #25494) doesn't include the gas regulator, and we don't carry one. You can contact our parts department to get one.
For mild steel welding you need to use pure argon.
