You will need argon gas, TIG welding filler rods, and the TIG torch. See my recommendations below.
This TIG will not weld aluminum, steels only.

you would also need some form of shielding gas. A 75% Argon 25% C02 mix should do for general welding across the board

No it doesn't. I have both the hybrid and the flux core 125 from NT and both are hot on trigger only!!!

All Northern Industrial Welders have a trigger activated arc, so the wire is not hot until you pull the trigger.

This welder does come with two 1lb spools. One .030 spool of flux core and one .030 solid wire.

The Northern Industrial Welders Hybrid MIG/Stick 200 can handle either a 4" or an 8" spool when MIG or flux core welding. The spool gun itself can only handle a 4" spool.

1lb wire spools in the gun, you can use 10lb spools in cabinet. I only use the spool gun for aluminum.

The Northern Industrial Welders Hybrid MIG/Stick 200 is not the same as the Northern Industrial MIG/Stick 200 Welder(Item#164745). The Hybrid is set up to accept, and comes with a spool gun. The MIG/Stick 200 Welder(Item#164745) does not come, nor is it set up to accept a spool gun.

A minimum wattage for a generator to operate this welder is 6600 running watts, the generator should be started and running at full speed before plugging in your welder, that will prevent any power spikes as the generator ramps up, if generator has an automatic idle function this should be turned off.
