answer 2
Yes. I mounted it on a ceiling area in my garage. You must, however, reinforce the area and make certain you have a good sturdy mounting surface. It is fairly heavy and you would not want it to come down on you.

answer 5
That's how I mounted the reel I bought. However, I did use a safety cable through the hole provided on the reel housing and then over the top of the square tubing that I bolted the reel to. Sometimes I have visitors in my shop and want to avoid any incidents.

answer 6
Yes. Just make sure the bracket is secured to a joist using lag bolts. Mark the bracket, predrill the holes into the wood, and fasten the lag screws so the bottom of the heads are slightly above the thickness of the bracket. Slide the bracket on and tighten with a socket wrench.
The rubber bumper has a screw to fasten the top half together. Loosen the screw and slide the hose until you have enough tail to grab it from floor level with the bumper against the reel. Then tighten the screw on the bumper. This will give you whatever tail length you need. You will shorten the 26 ft reach of the reel by the length of the ceiling height. So unless you leave the bumper as is and add an extension hose to whatever length you can grab from the floor, you'll shorten the reach if you move the bumper.
Hope this helps!
