Question

Is there no chart for discharge times?

There is no way to figure out discharge times for different uses? I am thinking of buying to run a 1500 watt appliance (in this case, an EdenPure heater) - isn't there any way to figure out how long a fully charged battery will last when not getting any charge (during the night)?

The battery that comes with the NPower Solar Home Power Kit will be a 60 Amp-Hour(Ah) battery. Ah are specified at a 20 hour rate, meaning this battery could have a 3 amp draw for 20 hours. Performance will go down exponentially as amp draw goes up. For example, a 5.5 amp draw would provide about 10 hours, giving you 55 Ah. At a 36 amp draw for 1 hour, you would use up all 60 Ah. A 1500 watt appliance using 120 volt electricity would draw 12.5 amps(Watts=amps x volts). At a 12.5 amp draw, a fully charged battery would last about 3.5 hours. This solar panel in this kit is 80 watts, which provides the power going into the battery. Depending on how often the heater is used, and amount of good sunlight available, times will vary on how long it will take to charge the battery itself.

The NPower Solar Home Power Kit comes with mounting hardware and brackets that could be mounted to your roof. The kit includes an 11 foot wire that connects to the panel with a j-style plug and to the battery with alligator clamps. The wire can be spliced and added to, or you would need to purchase an extension with the same plugs at an electrical supply store if a longer length is needed.
