Question

additional bearing question

I saw that someone asked about the bearing size, but that answer didn't meet my needs because I was thinking about changing them out for 7/16 ID bearings so I need more information. What is the outside diameter measurement of the bearings and are they flanged, non-flanged, precision or cap bearings? It might be helpful to know the bearing depth as well to ensure proper fitment if I were to use an alternative size.

The cart tire is not available to change out with a 7/16" bearing. The tire has a 3/4" ball bearing and the outside diameter is 1 3/8". The depth of the bearing measures under 3/8" width without the lip and with the lip measures just over 3/8".

Question

question about item # 189383

When putting hub on axel do I need to drill for a cotter pin on the inside of the hub location to avoid the hub from moving inward and rubbing against the cart? I guess I could use flat washers on the inside of the hub on the axel to avoid this problem I have experinced with the original wheels.
Thank you

No holes should be drilled in the hub of this tire. It is not set up for this. Maybe drill a hole in the axle for the cotter pin and use a washer or two on the inside. There are also locking collars that use a set screw that can be purchased to achieve this purpose without any drilling.

They are hard rubber, do not give with hand pressure. I have just used them around the yard and cement garage floors, no bad noise.

A pneumatic tire will have a tube filled with air. A flat free tire is a solid polyurethane that has the bounce and feel of an air or pneumatic tire but never goes flat. This tire has a 3/4" inch bore and would work good for you.
