Question

What is the measurement from the angle iron crossbrace to the point of the sub soiler?

My concern is that my 3 pt. hitch arms will only go so low, maybe 8" from the ground. So to get a 22" working depth I would need this unit to measure 30" from the cross brace (where the pins are bolted) to the bottom point.

The measurement from the angle iron cross brace to the point of the subsoiler is 21 3/8".

Question

Does this model have a sheer pin?

Because it digs so much deeper than the other model you advertise, I would think it needs the protection offered by a sheer pin in the event of hitting a rock or root.

The Behlen Subsoiler does not include a shear pin on the foot.

Yes, on the manual there is a part number listed for the "foot". It is called the shank. It would be available directly through the manufacturer.

The shank is 12" long and 2" wide. The manufacturer did not have the thickness.
